AIM Independent Living Center is an approved facilitator for New York State’s Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program.
We partner with the statewide fiscal intermediary, Public Partnerships LLC, or PPL.
About CDPAP
CDPAP allows people with disabilities and chronic health conditions to hire personal assistants to help them live independently at home. Consumers are able to choose their caregivers, who can be friends or relatives.
CDPAP is open to eligible Medicaid recipients.
PPL, as the statewide fiscal intermediary, handles Medicaid billing and administers payroll and benefits for personal assistants.
AIM’s role in CDPAP
AIM can help new CDPAP consumers understand how the program works, register for the program and onboard their personal assistants with PPL.
We also provide ongoing support to CDPAP consumers in many aspects of the program, including the timekeeping system used to record care hours provided by their personal assistants.
AIM’s team of CDPAP facilitators can assist by phone, video chat or in-person by appointment. We can assist in multiple languages, including sign language, through an interpreter service.
We have facilitators based in communities across the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions of upstate New York, and we can serve any CDPAP consumer in New York State, free of charge.
AIM offers a wide array of services for people with all types of disabilities, and our facilitators can connect CDPAP consumers with wraparound services available through AIM and other community providers.
Independent living centers helped launch CDPAP in New York State, and AIM has been a CDPAP provider since 1997.
