AIM has purchased AJ’s Deli, a popular eatery in Southport, to use in conjunction with our Supported Employment Program for people with disabilities.
AJ’s Deli features subs, wraps, paninis, sides and salads, as well as fresh fruit smoothies from a portion of the deli called Smoothie Island.
The deli, which offers both seating and takeout, is open from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays.
The deli is located in the Southport Plaza, at 1141 Broadway St., Elmira.
AIM isn’t planning significant changes, and the business will operate as usual. We are planning to add a website with a menu and online ordering system.
AIM will use the deli to provide assessments, community work experiences, and job placements for the Supported Employment Program. The participants in this program will work alongside the staff at AJ’s Deli.
AIM provides a wide range of Supported Employment services under contract with two state agencies, the Office of Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) and the Office for People with Development Disabilities (OPWDD).
