AIM's Family Support Navigator Program will host a series of forums on medication-supported recovery from addiction.
The Medication Supported Recovery Insight Forum will be held from 4-5 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month starting February 15. It will be held at the Elmira AIM office, 350 West Church Street, Elmira, and participants can also join online via Zoom. There will be five sessions. This forum will conclude June 14.
Participants will be provided and guided through a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) workbook that focuses on education surrounding medication that assist with recovery from substance use. It is a focus group that walks through the TIP 63 protocol and reviews the three FDA-approved medications to treat opioid use disorder: methadone, naltrexone, and buprenorphine. The group will carefully consider the relevant clinical and health services research and science-based practices. This group is for all who have questions regarding medically supported recovery.
The forum is hosted by Nick Moffe, AIM's Director of Peer Supports. Please contact Moffe in advance at (607) 962-8225, ext. 230 to register.
