Home delivery available for assistive equipment

April 8, 2020

AIM’s free loan program for assistive equipment and technology is still operating despite our temporary office closing due to the coronavirus public health emergency.

We have a van for this program, and we’re delivering items directly to consumers’ homes. Requested items will be dropped off with the loan form and a self-addressed, stamped envelope so consumers can simply fill out the form and mail it back.

Items available to borrow from AIM’s Technology-Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities (TRAID) Program include wheelchairs, walkers, Rollators, canes, crutches, ramps, grab bars, Hoyer lifts, adaptive seating, shower chairs, commodes, wander alarms, weighted items, adaptive utensils, laptops, iPads and deaf and blind/low vision technology. We also have learning aids, toys and games for early intervention, as well as pediatric equipment.

This is not a complete inventory and we have many other items, so please contact us if you’re in need of any type of assistive technology. Loans are for 10 weeks but can be renewed if needed.

This program serves Steuben, Chemung, Schuyler, Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties.

For more information or to arrange a delivery, contact TRAID Program Coordinator Hannah Harnas at or (607) 962-8225 ext. 133 or (888) 962-8244 ext. 133. Harnas can provide assistance with setting up or using devices by phone or email.
