AIM fishing derby set for May 17

May 5, 2014

ELMIRA | AIM Independent Living Center will host an accessible fishing derby from 8-11 a.m. May 17 at Eldridge Park in Elmira. The event will raise money for people with disabilities.

Prizes will be awarded in four age groups. A $100 gift card will be awarded to the overall winner.

The family-friendly event will also feature raffles, a 50-50 and children’s games with prizes.

Registration will be held the day of the event. The fee is $10 for adults and $5 for children 15 years old and younger.

Anglers are asked to bring their own bait. A limited amount of bait will be available at the event on a first-come, first-serve basis. Fishermen 16 years old and older must have a valid fishing license.

Event proceeds will benefit AIM, a nonprofit organization that provides services to people with disabilities, their families and friends, and the businesses that serve them.
