AIM to host diabetes self-management classes

MONTOUR FALLS | AIM Independent Living Center will host a four-week diabetes self-management program beginning Sept. 15 in Montour Falls.

The free program will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Schuyler County Human Services Complex. The final class will be Oct. 8.

AIM’s Diabetes Self-Management Program (DSMP) is a peer-led education program for people living with diabetes. The program is also open to caregivers of people with diabetes.

The program, which is funded by the New York State Department of Health Balancing Incentive Program, is designed to complement the health care that participants may already be receiving. The purpose is to enhance one’s skills and ability to manage his/her health and maintain an active and fulfilling lifestyle.
