New program helps manage chronic disease

CORNING | AIM will begin offering chronic disease self-management workshops  in October.

The free, six-session workshops, called "Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions," are for anyone living with a chronic condition, as well as their caregivers.The workshops will help people living with heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, depression, asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, and other physical and mental health conditions.

The sessions will be peer-led, and facilitated by trained AIM staff. One will be held from 1-3:30 p.m. Thursdays from Oct. 6-Nov. 10 at AIM's Corning office. The other will be held from 1-3:30 p.m. Fridays from Oct. 7-Nov.18 (no class Nov. 11) at AIM's Elmira office.
