afc.JPGBIG FLATS | AIM Independent Living Center was recognized as an Age-Friendly Organization on Monday during the Older Americans Month celebration in Big Flats.

AIM was one of the first six businesses to earn the designation in Chemung County. The designation was given by Age-Friendly Chemung County, which is a coalition that is working to make the county a better place to live for people of all ages and abilities. To earn the designation, AIM had to meet criteria established by the Age-Friendly Chemung County.

"We're honored to be one of the first businesses to earn the Age-Friendly designation," said John Zick, AIM's director of government and public affairs. "This coalition is doing great work, and we're excited to see more businesses recognized for their age-friendly efforts."

AIM is member of the Age-Friendly Chemung County coalition.
